The Lower Back Tattoo, Upper Back Tattoo, Full Back Tattoo

I do not have any tattoos, nor do I plan on getting a tattoo. I do not have any tattoo's because not only am I too ridiculously good looking for a tattoo but I am also too ridiculously smart for a tattoo.

I do not understand how people can think getting a tattoo is a good idea, I compare getting a tattoo to buying one piece of clothing that you have to wear for the rest of your life, Black High Top Reebok Pumps & brown HyperColor Tee's were a great fashion statement in the 80's but I would not command much respect in the streets with that outfit now, I wonder if buddy from High School that got that Nike Swoosh tatt still thinks that was a good decision?

Here are some examples of Tatt's are bad decisions:

  1. The Lower Back Tattoo: if you have not figured out that the Lower Back Tattoo is a stupid decision, then give yourself another 30 years, by that time you will be seeing a bunch of 60 year old ladies with Lower Back Tatt's. Let's try a little exercise, imagine your Grandma, now imagine Grandma with a Tatt on her lower back that you would catch glimpses of when she reached into the top cupboard to get you a cookie, now if you are anything like me, your opinion of Grandma maybe slightly skewed by the lower back tatt, especially if it says "Faster" or "Juicy".

Conclusion - the lower back tattoo on women is a bad decision and Joey is smarter than you.

    backtattoo1.jpg

  2. The Favorite Band Tattoo: now what is it with people getting tattoo's of their favorite band? Don't they realize that given enough drugs, bands are bound to peak and then fade out, but no matter how hard you scrub or how much drugs you take you will not be able to get that giant Metallica Tattoo off your back.
Conclusion - getting a tattoo of any band is a bad decision, especially if it is a tattoo of Metallica & occupies all of your back, and oh yeah Joey is smarter than you.

    backtattoo2.jpg

  3. The "Hey I Turned 13 So I Am Going To Get A Tattoo" Tattoo: if someone isn't old enough to drive & isn't old enough to be legal, then they should not be getting tattoos.

Conclusion - the "Hey I Turned 13 So I Am Going To Get A Tattoo" Tattoo is a bad decision and Joey is smarter than you.

    backtattoo4.jpg

  4. The Upper Back Tattoo: what good is the upper back tattoo? It is hidden all the time, what purpose does it serve? Well I guess it is not hidden all the time as buddy below proves in his best formal wear.

Conclusion - the upper back tattoo is a bad decision and when combined with a leather corset, it is a terrible decision, and oh yeah Joey is way smarter than you.

    backtattoo6.jpg

  5. The "I Am Going To Get A Tattoo Because I Am Fat" Tattoo: out of all the tattoo's I have discussed this is the smartest. As buddy below shows, when you are fat, you can fit a lot more Tatt's on your back.

Conclusion - the "I Am Going To Get A Tattoo Because I Am Fat" tattoo is the smartest of the dumb decisions one can make when getting a tattoo and Joey is not fat, he is ridiculously good looking.

Joey-

You forgot the most horrible of all: The Tit Tattoo.

That Lil' Butterfly's gonna be an albatross some day.

And remember, Joey may be smarter than "you," but Mike's smarter than "everybody."

What about the "I got so drunk in vegas, fell in love with an escort & got a tattoo of her name on my ass" tattoo???

u can't tell me that was a bad decision... i love that tattoo!!!!

I love the close up of the man's tatoo. Unique.

Hey, I have lots of tatoos! ok what am I talking about, even I have to admit that was really funny...

whats up with the dude in the corset?

i wonder where he got it from, i want one, not the tattoo but corset.

I have a little tatoo on the back : ))

You seriously have issues, people express themselves in different was, if tattooing their bodies is how they would like to do that we who are you to say that they are stupid for doing so.
Tattoo's are an individuals choice just because someone has a tatt doesn't automatically make them stupid.
being 26 having my first tattoo at 22, it wasn't something that i done because everyone else was doing it. it was something that i wanted to do for myself.
i working in an office, get paid great, am also studying and the only thing that is stupid about any of this is that i actually sat here for 5 minutes wasting my time reading your STUPID web page.

"I do not have any tattoos, nor do I plan on getting a tattoo. I do not have any tattoo's because not only am I too ridiculously good looking for a tattoo but I am also too ridiculously smart for a tattoo."

If you expect to be taken seriously as a writer, learn the difference between possessive (tattoo's) and plural (tattoos).

I put tattoos on people, they pay me good money to fulfill their vision....I'm smarter than you.....

their's a saying:

the only difference between a tatooed person and a non-tatooed person:

IS that a tatooed person doesn't care if ya not tatooed

think about that u stupied fuck

GET A LIFE, who cares its a tattoo. If thats what ppl want to do with their bodies then thats their decision, if you don't like them then keep it to yoursef because no one really cares. EACH TO THEIR OWN. Full fill your time with something usefull. P.s who writes shit like that >>> "I am too ridiculously good looking for a tattoo"

Damn Sarah, sounds like someones got a lower back tattoo...

Good luck explaining that to your grandkids.

Joey.

Who the hell do you think you are judging people because of a tattoo?
I am 15 and will be 16 in a month and I am getting a lower back tattoo. Its Something I have wanted since I was 13, so I've been thinking about this for along time. I don't think havivg a tattoo will change a persons personality and make them stupid. My dad Has A tattoo on his arm and he Is a manager At coke.
You need to grow up and have an open mind.
Why does it even matter to you what other people do to their bodies? If you don't like them thats ok not everyone does but you should'nt judge others its wrong.
So you can go ahead and judge me because I'm going to get a tattoo I don't care what you think.
So judge me, I bit your an old fart with nothing better to do.

hahaha ... Katie-May thanks for that.

"I am 15 and will be 16 in a month and I am getting a lower back tattoo. Its Something I have wanted since I was 13, so I've been thinking about this for along time."

A long time is life girl, not 3-years, & life is how long u going to be stuck with that tatt ... well 2 & a bit, but I not your daddy or your babies daddy so I don't care.

"My dad Has A tattoo on his arm and he Is a manager At coke."

I hate to break it to you kid but your dad is most likely not a manager at coke, he probably works in production on the assembly line counting cans or maybe even the can polisher!

"So you can go ahead and judge me because I'm going to get a tattoo I don't care what you think."

I am not judging you, I could care less, besides only Jesus can judge you...

"So judge me, I bit your an old fart with nothing better to do."

I not an old fart, I be 26, so make sure you holla when you turn 16 & get your lower back tatt and maybe I can take you for an ice cream...

Holla!

hey, i hav 3 tat's and am plannin another 2 soon. i enjoy the art of tattoos. as much as i enjoy it kid, pls make sure u really want this tat before gettin it. u said u only comin 16, which is really young wait a few yrs and if u feel the same get one and b prepared to hav it for life. but i do suggest u wait. i waited first bfore gettin one to ensure i wanted one. i hav several friends who jumped into gettin tats and they regretted it. ya may think all these ppl pickin on ya but really its good advice.

Im 18 n got atat on my lower back last july and it was the best thing i ever did in my life!!!! Even tho it cost me my whole 2wks wages i dont care i love it and am soooooooooo glad i got it!!!

Tattoos are low class. The only people that can wear tattoos with pride are guys in the service. Anybody else with a tattoo looks like trash. Guys with tattoos (who haven't been in the armed forces) look like bikers, gang-bangers, or inmates. Girls with tattoos look like Ho's, trailer trash, or just plain dumb sluts (especially the lower back "do me doggy style" tattoo). It doesn't matter who you are, soon as you get a tattoo to be cute or cool you have given yourself the "L" for " LOSER " stamp.

Your a dick head!! how about living now, not worrying about what people will think when your 60, you could even be dead befor then.

I have two tatoos. . . . I don't care what anyone thinks of them (only one person would ever see them anyway, and they are very small). What does concern me, however, is your exceptionally crappy writing. When I see stupid errors I don't think, oh no! he thinks my tatoos are trashy! I think, wow, where'd this guy go to school? Does he write like this at work?

"Babies" is plural for baby. So it's baby's daddy. "There" denotes location, "their" is used for possession, and "they're" means "they are." Unless your tatoo owns something, don't use "tatoo's."

How can you expect anyone to take you seriously if you can't even write well?

it a subjective view a personal taste thing i don't like tattoo im a train graphic designer and art history major i wouldn't recommend any one to get one anymore than i would someone brand themselves or lop off a body party i cant stop anyone from getting one i would advice a person to think about it for a long time. it also ways amazing me that the diversity of pattern and design even when someone design there own they all just just look the same as does mine i designed it myself even included obscure references to my family crest and not 6 weeks after i had it done a guy in a bar compared his to mine the they were so similar i felt sick to my stomach the amount of money and time it will now take to have it removed ridiculas
i still like body art but i feel adding something to yourself permanently is wrong it can't be changed. you waste a canvas to express yourself on with permanent tat stretch you imaginations it a working living space change it about to would wear the same shirt all your life. temporary is good so express your individuality and show just how free and expressive you can be change is good have something different each week shock people with your styles and forgive my waffle and lack of punctuation
oh one other thing even before i had my tat i hated the lower back tattoo they look worse than visible panty line or even heaven forbid the exposed thong which at a glance is exactly what they remind me of must of all and they rally do all look the same no matter what changes you think you've made to it

I can see both sides. When I was in highschool I too thought that (some) tattoos were "white trash tags". (Or at least that is what I called them!) However, I was in highschool and thought I knew everything. I was a typical highschool kid, A student, great family, athletic, and (not trying to brag) popular. I didn't need to get a tattoo to feel popular or "cool". I lost my sister when I was eight years old to a car accident, (just an accident, no drinking and driving). When I graduated from highschool I was going through some old photo albums and found a picture of my Grandfather. My grandfather was a preacher and a wonderful man all around. He was not the kind of preacher that made you feel bad about sin, he was the kind to hold your hand and help you ask for forgiveness. He was the kind to cry at you wedding and laugh at your reception. Anyway, I was looking through some albums and found a picture of my sister and my grandfather swimming. I noticed in the picture my grandfather had something on his lower leg just underneath his calf but I couldn't make it out. I asked my Grandmother and she was reluctant to tell me that my Grandfather, the preacher that everyone loved, had a tattoo. The tattoo was a four-leaf clover, each leaf representing his grandchildren. The story moved me so much that I actual started to consider a tattoo. I am an art teacher and come from a long line of artists. I began to sketch a tattoo for myself just to see how it would look. I researched and experimented with all kinds of dyes and inks trying to find what I liked best. Finally I decided on a very small (quarter sized) fourleaf clover on the top of my foot, with the stem going part-way down my toe. It is something I can show if I want and hide if I need. I have never regretted getting this particular tattoo, but I have never considered getting another one. It is a big decision and you must research and think for a long time before jumping into something so permanent. I do not beleive all tattoos are trashy, I just beleive that most are recieved under the pretense of, "this is so cool, everyone will think I am hot!!" You don't need ink to be beautiful. You just need pride and self-confidence.
Sorry I took so much time, I just thought an explaination was necessary.

Ok, I can't believe that I just wasted 10 minutes reading all of this bs. There is nothing wrong with tattoo's. They are a personal choice. I have 3 and more to come. 1 on my lower back, 1 on my ankle and 1 on my neck. My daughter also has many and her fiance has all upper body done. We are not bikers, gang-bangers or low-lifes. We are average middle class people. Most people do not even realize that I have tats unless I want them to see them, if I can cover them for work or do not even comment about them. You would be suprised at the number of professional people that have tats! I do believe that you should be mature enough to make the choice to get one and I think all tats should mean something to you, as they are forever! Tats are body art to me and a way to express myself. I love them and look forward to getting more!! If you don't like them, don't get any and keep your opinions to yourself!! We don't care if you like our body art or not, we do and that is all that matters!!
PS
I'll be one HOT Grandma!!

Teresa ~ California

i am so vey sorry that i had just read everything you wrote.you should really keep you opinions for yourself because if we read it it doesn`t mean that we necessarily care about it.
i have 2 tatoos and i think i will also have others in the future.
have a nice day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh my hell you are all rediculous if you are bashing tatts. My husband has seven tatts and has a damn good job. It doesn't change who is he one bit! Tattoos don't make who you are! you are who you want to be and who you portray yourself to be. a tattoo doesn't make you a whore or a tramp (referring to lower back tatt being called tramp stamp.) you make yourself that way by the way you portray yourself. I am getting a lower back tatt tommorrow and am so excited about it! and trust me i'm not a whore or anything like that. and to the person that said tattoos are low class, thats bull. I know plenty of people that have tattoos that are high class with good jobs and lots of money. Like I said, a tattoo doesn't make who you are, YOU do. If you're white trash or low class then it's because you are a loser not because you have a tatt. and joey I'm sure your not too good looking for a tatt. you're just conceited and you need to pull your head out of your ass. Oh and my grandpa who is in his mid 60's has a tattoo and I would NEVER think anything different of him! He is a wonderful person because he CHOSE to be that way. His tatt has NOTHING to fo with who he is. get a life loser

I love the massive polarity in opinion when it comes to tattoos...

Read my rant at http://tattoorant.blogspot.com

I current have an ink-free body but will be getting a full-back piece shortly.

All in all, I appreciated the humour of your blog :)

Well,I just came across this site while I was browsing the internet looking for a for a nice tattoo design. I read most of the comments. I'd just like to add my two cents lol. Im 18, a college freshman with my whole life ahead of me and I plan to get my name on my lower back. I can see how it would be sluty to have "Juicy" or "Faster" tattooed on your body, but all tattoos are not bad. What about when people get the names of loved ones that they lost? Some tattoos are just plain old stupid, but not all of them so who are u or me to judge anybody or catagorize anyone because of a tattoo that is on "thier" body might I add. Its not your body and you don't have to look it , close you eyes.

ha ha i was doing the same as Danielle, browsing for a good tattoo design and like her i thought i would add an opinion.
i have one tat of a Druidic symbol that means 3 sisters, and my younger sister has the same (both on the wrist). the reason we got them was because my older sister died two years ago, we were all very close and we mant to remember her and honour her forever. i have never regretted the decision and will love my tat forever. :)

WHo the fuck are you to say all this shit about people having tattoos. Their is nothing wrong having a tattoo. I know alot of people who do. It doesn't change how they are. Its their body not yours so why the fuck do you even give a shit. Its are decisions.. so shut the fuck up.. we don;t want to hear ur fuckin bullshit about tattoos. You know what your probally saying all this shit because Ur too pussy to get a tattoo. Well guess what I have a tattoo on my lower back and i am getting another one on my upper back.. and who gives a fuckin when i reach up for a fuckin cookie my grandchildren will see it.. its a cute tattoos its not like fuckin hell or something.. my grandchildren aren;t going to treat me differently cuz of my tattoo.. Like fuck ur an fuckin idiot stop judging other people's body. ITS ARE LIFE ARE BODY

Ya so you pretty much suck.....

After a comment like ''I'm too ridiculasly good looking'' at least have the decency to post a picture of yourself as i'm sure many people will have their own opinions (you won't understand that word so look it up in the dictionary) on the way you look, tattoos or not! You sound rather lonely to me and pity really isn't something most people want to attract so maybe you should consider changing your bitterness to acceptance after all if you beleive in jesus, you will be judged along with the rest of us and i'm not sure that being a aggresive nasty little person is that commendable in the eyes of the lord, do you?
Any way thats my thought after reading all the angry comments in this blog, enjoy life is what i say!

holy fuck get a life buds. tattoos are all good, dont know why your judging people on their tattoos because it has nothing to do with how the person is. just cause someone has sleaves or lover back tattoos doesn't make them bad biker dudes or that they have a "tramp stamp". pfft common now fuckin rediculous. who gives a shit if you dont like tattoos then dont get one, for the people who do thats their buisness.

Just because Metallica makes the best music ever, doesn't mean you need to be bitter because you aren't as talented or popular. I know plenty of people with Metallica tattoos and they still love them, amazing huh? Their music stands the test of time, go ahead, bash tattoos i don't care. But don't insult one of the greatest metal acts in all of history.

I am a lover of all art forms, and tattoos have always amazed me... however, I have been debating a tattoo for 10 years, I know what I want.. and I know I want it life long... but there are certain situations I think I would wish i didn't have it.. and for that reason alone, I will not get my full back tattoo, and totally go against the sayong in which i live by " seize the day remember you are mortal" so yea, i may die without the tattoo i love so much... but maybe I'll design my own shirt...
those who have their tatts for personal reasons, i think that is great, those who have them as the latest trend.. your pathetic really... and for those so closed minded to think everyone with a tatt is trash... your not too smart now are you? I do not have a tattoo... I may never have one... I wish i had the gaul to go forth however I am unsure on so many things in life such as career and lifestyle never mind something I cannot change day to day or ever for that matter... I'll stick to cosmetic surgery...

I got mine done a few days ago, Im 25 have liked tattoos since I was a kid but wanted to be sure that I would be happy with the design I got. So I thought about it and waited until i was sure that what I have had done is what I want.

People don't take them seriously enough sometimes as shown above by the 15 year old going to get one. It costs about ten times as much to get a tattoo removed than to get it in the first place.

There is a lot less stigma attached to ink these days and there will be a hell of a lot of people my age who will have tattoos when we reach 60, so it won't be unusual for grandparents to have tattoos.

And your comment about jesus? Hah... just shows us what kind of person you are...

jesus was a man, he had a beard...

I love the upper back tattoo's (On Others) I myself would not have this done but do find it interesting viewing others art on the largest canvas on the human body.

I understand some people not liking them, but honestly, you can't label someone as "dumb" because they have a tattoo. I thought about placement and design for five years before getting my first tattoo, and I love it. And yes, it IS a lower back tattoo. The only reason anyone thinks it's a "bad idea" on women is because they are socialized to view any woman conscious of her sexuality as a "slut," "whore," "ho." A tattoo can be a very personal, intimate decision. I agree with a majority of your points, such as those about "the favorite band" and "13 year old." But by generalizing tattoos and bashing something that is a part of a person as much as your own beliefs are, you show that you really aren't worth listening to. Another thing that causes me to have difficulty taking you seriously is the "ridiculously good-looking" comment. Honestly, who's going to listen to someone who sounds like a stuck-up prick? There is a lot of grey area surrounding tattoos and the people that have them, but they are becoming a more widely accepted form of expression, so you may as well get used to it.

Joey,

Your shit is funny, keep writing.

Nice post about tattoos. Personally, I like them as long as they are not excessive. i.e. All over the body.

-Dave

How about the fact that it is their choice you "too smart" douche bag

well i wanted to get this tattoo on my lower back but i dont know if it will hurt but im only 14 years old wut should i do?????

well i wanted to get this tattoo on my lower back but i dont know if it will hurt but im only 14 years old wut should i do?????

The tattoo has thousands of years of history, it is an art form, but I know by your ignorant and blinkered opinion that you know nothing at all about this. Research what you're talking about, find out that people can get tattoos to remember a loved one, something that happened in their life, appreciate that not everyone on this planet gives a shit what people think about them as you clearly do...then learn to shut up and make the world a better place.

reebok pumps are fresh you complete cunt..

im gettin a tattoo of my family crest ...a latin prayer.....and my two dead fathers names on it..i come from middle class money..i did well in school im in college now...i never thought tattoos were "cool"....but im not getting it to be "cool" either....whats the problem...i dont like stupid people who hate peoples freedom to express themselves....should i start a pointless blog on that? no....joey is officially not smarter than anyone..in case anyone didnt already realize that...and fro everyone who has tats.....rock on lol

YOU REALLY CRACK ME UP WITH THAT THING ABOUT GRANDMAMA. I HAVE ONE ON MY ARM,THAT SAYS CATEYES WITH THE EYES,NOISE AND MOUTH.

Amazing how like 95% of these dumb sluts who commented are all against your blog. Over 80% of women who gert tats regret it within ten years. Why? Usually by then the tats are just big green smears. The whole "tramp stamp" craze is just a stupid fad, a fad that is already going out of style. Dumb, dumb women. Typical of today's females: they'll do anything the media tells them to do.

I'm not trying to say that having "Metallica" on your back is a good idea, yet, there are some people that really find their tattoos meaningfull. Some people have tattoos reminding them of their died family members, newborns footprints tattooed, some tattoo ribbons to support cancer foudations, etc... For some women breast tattoo is the only chance to have a natural look, so don't be so mean about the idea. Just read what the article about breast tattooing says.

I respectfully disagree with your oppinion. I have Multiple tattoo, as I am in the industry and am also an artist, and have ABSOLUTELY no regrets about any of them. They are well thought out, well designed, and well executed. When I come up with an idea, I work it out, then let it sit for a year minimum, if I still want it then, I get it, space being at a premimum and all. As far as GMA and "JUICY" please don't lump us all into the same category, some people do stupid things, it doesn't mean we are all idiots.

Tattoos are low class. The only people you ever see wearing tattoos are white class losers and black trash thugs. You only see tattoos where trash livs. Go to any of the nicer, higher income parts of town and tell me how many tattoos you see. Very few because scumbags don't live there.
